Mount Athos

Mount Athos, or Holy Mountain,  is a mountain and peninsula in Northern Greece. On Mount Athos are built 20 Eastern Orthodox monasteries (under the direct jurisdiction of the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople),  many sketes (small communities of monks) and many cells ( houses with a small church, where 1–3 monks live).

There live only monks praying unceasingly for the whole world.
